Glycidyl Neodecanoate is a unique modifier of coating resins. Its epoxy group is highly reactive and can react with hydroxyl groups, carboxyl groups, etc. it can be grafted onto acrylic resins and polyesters, etc. at room temperature with few side reactions. The obtained polyester meets the requirements of narrow molecular weight distribution and low viscosity. The chemical resistance, weather resistance and ultraviolet resistance of the modified resin are significantly improved. The multi-branched structure can also reduce the viscosity of the resin and improve the wettability and plasticity of the pigment. The hydroxyl groups produced by it embedded in the polymer chain can crosslink and enhance the strength of the resin, and can participate in coating formulation in the form of a reactive diluent to prepare high solids and low VOC paints, which is especially suitable for automotive refinish coatings.
