Tianjin Shield was founded in 1992. In the mid-1990s, while developing other chemical materials, she accidentally mastered the core technology of neodecanoante acid, and was selected into the national key scientific and technological research projects of the 9th Five-Year Plan. By 2008, it had completed plant with 60,000 tons/year tertiary carbonic acid (shina®), 60,000 tons/year vinyl neodecanoante (shivena®) and 100,000 tons/year glycidyl neodecanoante (shigena®), breaking the decades-long foreign monopoly. It became one of the world’s two and China’s only tertiary carbon monomer producers, with products exported to over 40 countries.In 2017, Shield undertook the national key R&D program of the 13th Five-Year Plan on tertiary carbon polymer preparation and application, building a 100,000 tons/year industrialization demonstration device. In 2020, Hebei Siyou Shu Carbon New Materials Co., Ltd. was established for tertiary carbon new materials production. In 2023, Hebei Siyou Guoyun Technology Development Co., Ltd. was founded as the application R&D and promotion center for tertiary carbon polymers.
